Salesforce Admin Training Streamlines Warehouse Processes

Even simple processes can be quite complex when you drill down into the steps. Breaking down more extensive processes into smaller tasks keeps your processes viable, streamlined, and consistent. Understanding where to house these processes is your next step. Granting the right employees access and training them on the execution of correctly laid out processes will lead to measurable results.

If only there were a way to have everything in one place…Salesforce has entered the chat.

Five Salesforce Admin Training Steps To Optimize Warehouse Efficiencies

Identify Processes and Sub-Tasks

This seems obvious, but first, we must identify the processes you want to streamline. This high-level view focuses on the starting points, the endpoints, and the outcomes.

Once identified,  it’s time to break these into smaller tasks. We will do our own investigating but will also speak with the personnel involved in the execution. This will give us an accurate depiction of the processes or tasks at hand.

Now that we’ve mapped out your processes, it’s time to put them into Salesforce.

Identify Pertinent Salesforce Objects

Every great process needs a solid foundation. We start by looking at your standard, custom, external, and child objects, and their pertinent fields. We identify the objects and relevant fields that exist and decide which ones to build for a given process. Once the objects and fields are in place, it’s time to talk about putting them to work through automation.

Go Further With Salesforce Automation

Some organizations will be happy with identifying, documenting, and informing relevant parties about their assignments. However, Salesforce offers process automation tools to make this work more straightforward and consistent. We will want to include your developers and trainers when implementing automation tools.

The behind-the-scenes portion will need technical approval before implementing your process plan. Formulizing the best plan of action with your developer will help ensure the transition to development is a breeze.

Your Salesforce developer can then begin working their magic in sandbox. This prevents any damage done to any live data, etc. Including them early in the process, guarantees they know the needed Salesforce actions, required software, and involved users.

Process Testing

The next phase is the testing phase. While in sandbox, the developer will try out their new creation, fixing any bugs along the way. Fix the bugs, then bring in your Salesforce integration consultant, relevant admins, and managers to document the process. Once everything is running as planned and you’ve gained approval, it’s time to roll out the training and go live.

Training and Roll Out

There are a couple of different schools of thought on when to train and go live. The safest solution is to train your users while still in sandbox. This protects your existing data and keeps current processes in place.

The other alternative is to train your users in your production Salesforce org after going live. While this is a riskier alternative, there are instances where it is necessary.

Whichever training method you choose, your Salesforce integration consultant will help train your end-users on your new streamlined warehouse processes.

Streamlining Warehouse Processes With Salesforce Integration Consultants

The above is a simplified breakdown of how outlining and implementing your processes can help optimize your warehouse efficiencies. Utilizing Salesforce admin training partners can significantly improve your company’s workflows by identifying processes, breaking them down, and leveraging Salesforce’s automation tools.

Remember, optimizing Salesforce processes is an ongoing journey. As your organization grows and evolves, you will want to revisit and refine your workflows to ensure they remain effective and aligned with your goals. With the right strategy and tools, your warehouse can achieve new levels of productivity and success.
